CAMERA SITES
Fixed
safety cameras have received a lot of press recently in terms of
conspicuity, location and the inference that they are purely there
to generate income for the police. The reality is that strict criterion
issued by the Department of Transport governs the sighting of fixed
cameras. All these fixed cameras are located at high collision and
casualty areas and where speed is a major factor. A government directive
also stated that all fixed cameras within the safety camera scheme
should be painted yellow by the end of June 2002. Fixed cameras
